Have your say on proposals for the transformation of Ibex House

Dominus is working on plans for the future of Ibex House, 42-47 Minories.

We want to share our emerging proposals to rejuvenate Ibex House as a high-quality hotel and pub, retaining and celebrating this iconic Art Deco building and helping build a more inclusive Square Mile.

Central to the vision is the sensitive refurbishment of the existing building, retaining over 95% of its structure to deliver major embodied carbon savings while upgrading its environmental performance.
The Peacock Pub, a feature of the site since the 18th century, will be reinvented as a turbo-charged Art Deco-inspired venue, complemented by a basement speakeasy and rooftop F&B options.
At ground level, new cafés, restaurants and outdoor terraces will create a more permeable and active frontage, engaging with the local community and supporting the City of London’s Destination City strategy.

Alongside its hospitality and cultural role, the project will generate training, apprenticeships and employment opportunities, delivering meaningful benefits for local people and the wider economy.

The Site

Ibex House is located at 42–47 Minories, on the eastern edge of the City of London, close to Tower Hill and Aldgate stations.

The Grade II listed building sits near several conservation areas, including Crescent, Fenchurch Street Station, Lloyd’s Avenue, and Trinity Square, and is surrounded by other listed buildings and monuments.
This part of the City has seen significant change in recent years with new office, residential, and hotel developments, positioning Ibex House within a dynamic and evolving neighbourhood that bridges into Tower Hamlets.
